The Green Civic GX 2009

The 2009 Honda Civic GX is the next generation alternative fuel, ULTRAlow artillery emissions to fight the war for us, the prices of gas control and loch-ness trails. Even then, the Civic GX gets a respectable 32 and 37 MPG, so the actual cost per gallon is really too low.

According to Honda, The GX has everything expected from a Civic, as the highest rated safety, proven performance and Honda durability. But is the GX, which means; s powered by natural gas and has been named the cleanest internal combustion vehicles on Earth by the NRA.

At first glance, the Honda Civic GX looks almost too good to be true. The Civic GX is the only factory NGV (Natural Gas Vehicles) available to the general public, and is one of the cleanest-running cars you can buy.

The 2009 Honda Civic GX is priced at $ 25.860. Buyers are eligible for $ 4,000 Federal tax credit, and some of them offer further incentives. We tested for the first time Civic GX back in 2001, after a week I came away wondering why not all cars run on natural gas.

Fast-forward eight years: I have just spent another week with a Civic GX, and my enthusiasm has not waned a bit. The Civic GX is clean, safe, and the driver's side is almost completely transparent, if I hand you the keys to a Civic GX and sent you out for a spin, then you should probably have no idea you were driving anything other than an ordinary gasoline-powered Civic.

When I told friends and family that I was driving a Civic GX, most of them asked about security.

Look and feel

The Honda Civic is one of the best compact sedans on the market. The GX is equipped similarly to the middle Civic LX: Power windows, mirrors and locks, remote keyless entry, cloth seats, CD player, air conditioning, 5-speed automatic transmission, brakes, wheels and a full range of airbags.

The engine of GX is basically the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder found in other Civics, but the production of electricity is lower: 113 horsepower and 109 lb-ft of torque, compared with 140 hp and 128 lb-ft for petrol -powered Civics.

Handling is nimble and responsive, taking into account the severe earth-saving mission for which it was designed, the Civic GX is surprisingly fun with a zipper on the curves. Most gas stations are both 3.000 and 3.600 psi pumps.

The Civic is a car is 3.600 psi, so you can use either one, but will not get a full tank of fuel from 3.000 psi pump. EPA fuel economy estimates are 24 miles per GGE in the city and 36 MPGGE the highway, almost identical to a gasoline-powered Civic Automatic

When It Is all said and done

By far, the best feature Civic GX, is the fact that they rely on gasoline, it burns gas, which, although still non-synthetic solution is available in abundant quantities from domestic sources.

For now, at least, EPA score the Civic GX air pollution from 9.5 (at 10) is the same as the Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius, although the Civic GX has a higher carbon footprint. And the Civic has the mechanical complexity of a hybrid - or, for that matter, a regular gasoline-powered Civic.

2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,Hipro Power 2004-2010 Honda Civic Xenon HID Headlight Bulb - Low & High Beam

Calculating the environmental and financial implications of the Civic GX is difficult, because the price of gas varies from region to region. And the car itself is expensive, at $ 25.860 is $ 1,540 more than a Civic hybrid and almost $ 7k more than a gasoline Civic LX, while the GX is eligible for $ 4,000 Federal tax credit.

Some states and municipalities offer additional incentives, so it's best to do your homework before deciding whether a Civic GX is a cost effective solution.

Cost aside, I like the Civic GX. With the Civic GX, which you can really do about it, the safety of CNG and the practicality and reliability of a Honda Civic. The Civic GX is really good - and this is true.

The Civic and Civic GX 2009 Review

The Honda Civic is the car I most often recommend to people who want simple, economical and reliable transportation.

A week with a mid-range 2009 Honda Civic sedan reminded me why it is such a reasonable buy, but it reminded me that the Civic is the perfect car, and that buyers should carefully consider its flaws before signing on the dotted line.

I always liked the Civic, but as a car enthusiast, I am a little disturbed by how much I liked this latest one week test drive the sedan 2009 Honda Civic.

The Civic is the epitome of bland, soulless, sensible transportation, but my word is always good at it. After seven days with the Honda Civic, I began to wonder why everyone does not own one.

The Civic drove the model LX-S, a new-for-2009 addition to the lineup Civic based on the mid level ($ 18,125) Civic LX. The idea is to give the citizen a sporty look, hence the "S".

I really can not say that the works, this is the problem with drop-from-the-future shape of sedan Civic, even the hot-rod sedan Civic Si does not seem all that sporty, but $ 600 is a good agreement only for alloy only if you're in such things.

Incidentally, all Civic models get minor exterior changes for 2009, including a revised front bumper and headlights, taillights with a yellow flash, a new chrome strip between the taillights.

Civics are not factory options; The model you buy (DX, LX, EX, etc.) determines what you get (except for expensive dealer-installed accessories - watch out for). (Tip cheapskate us: If you can do it without power locks, keyless entry and cruise ships, learn about the $ 16.925 Civic DX-VP).

All Civics come with six airbags, brakes, wheels and a body structure designed to withstand the impact of larger, heavier vehicles.

Apart from the Civic was not nearly as relaxed as I remembered from the last test drive my Civic, in fact, it feels surprisingly quick and strong around town, even with five-speed automatic transmission, although picking up speed on the highway had liberal contact between the gas pedal and the floorboard.

I am sure that with a more typical mix of city and highway driving the Civic would have come closer to 30 MPG.

My biggest gripe about the Civic is that electronic stability control (ESC) is available but only for the most expensive Civics (skin-lined Civic EX-L, the hot rod Civic Si, and eco-chic Civic Hybrid ).

Several cars in the range Citizens LX-S, which, like the Subaru Impreza and Pontiac Vibe, offer ESC as standard.

Shame, because apart from the lack of ESC and a couple other minor issues, the sedan Civic is pretty much the perfect budget-minded family car.

The Civic also supports the American economy: Honda Civic cars based on a new factory in Indiana, which will eventually employ 2000 workers, and 60-70% of the parts of citizens, including machines made in the USA.

The Civic GX is based on the Civic Sedan LX.

The Civic GX is equipped with a 113-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. The government's highway driving cycle, the Civic GX gets the equivalent of a gasoline car win by 36 miles per gallon rating.
The Civic GX cylinders can not hold the same power as petrol tank, so cruising range is less than 250 miles, about 100 less than a gasoline-fueled Civic. short range and limited number of public refueling stations fuel, the Civic GX is unsuitable for road trips.

The Civic GX is the only natural gas-fueled passenger vehicle available to retail customers in the United States. The Honda Civic GX is also a rolling tax deduction.

Buying a Civic GX can earn $ 4.000 tax credit and the establishment of a home refueling unit may be worth another $ 1,000 federal tax credit. In several countries, the Civic GX can legally use the lane high passenger vehicles, while some cities are offering free metered parking.

2009 Honda Civic Coupe Review

Testing our way to the 2009 Honda Civic Coupe includes a full evaluation of the 2009 Honda Civic Coupe from the inside out.

We evaluate not only engine and handling performance for the 2009 Honda Civic Coupe, and cabin and cargo space.

Let's overall score on our way to test the 2009 Honda Civic Coupe will help you decide if a 2009 Honda Civic Coupe is right for you.

Whether the transmission, 140-hp Civics are lazy away from its position, but have adequate power around town and for highway merging and passing; The automatic is very alert to throttle inputs.

In Consumer Guide testing, the Civics with automatic transmission averaged 26,1-28,5 mpg. Si coupes averaged 29,9-30,3 mpg. Si requires super natural gas and other Civics regular use.

For 2009, the Honda Civic gets some minor updates and some style revisions rather complex line model. Most Honda Civic compact car driven by a-140 horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder, five-speed manual or five-speed manual or automatic.

EPA estimates are 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway for the Civic Si, but customers report average mileage up to 30 mpg (note, however, that the premium fuel recommended).

All Honda Civic models include front seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, front seat active head restraints and antilock braking system.

Electronic stability control is standard on EX-L, Si and Hybrid models and available on other trims.

Many comments suggest the company ride Honda Civic, and some believe that it is opposed to rough roads - especially the Civic Si models, which have stiffer, sport-tuned suspension.

Civic coupes are not isolated from road noise and wind as well as sedans. All Civics have fine straightline stability even in crosswinds, and effective control of the attitude with good pedal modulation.

Dynamically, Civic matches the class-leading Volkswagen Rabbit and Mazda 3.

Inside, all models of 2009 Honda Civic comes with a sports triaktino wheel. Interior fabrics have been upgraded and the 2009 Civic Hybrid model is available with leather. The new technology includes Bluetooth HandsFreeLink navigation-equipped models and a USB audio interface on Civic EX, EX-L, Hybrid, and Si. We believe that the Civic is comfortable and offers the driver outstanding outward visibility.

The Honda Civic comes standard with side impact airbags and other safety features are optional on competing models. Vehicle Stability Assist, which is the name of Honda, for electronic stability control is now standard on the Civic EX-L and Civic Hybrid, apart from the Civic Si.

The sporty Honda Civic Si Coupe and sedan share a 197-horsepower engine, six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and supportive sport seats.

The Honda Civic Hybrid sedan is powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with a permanent magnet electric motor and a continuously variable transmission.

The Honda Civic GX sedan uses natural gas for fuel.

Honda Civic Si 2009 In Depth Review

The Civic always sold well, but with gas hovering around $ 4 a gallon across the country, small cars have gone to the top of the charts selling. Indeed, they sell so well that the Civic actually found more buyers than perennial bestseller in America, the Ford F-150 pickup, in the summer of 2008.

Honda Civic sells them in various forms. The series analyzed in coupe and sedan Civic, the Civic Si sedan and coupe, the Civic GX sedan, and the Civic Hybrid sedan. (Click here for information on the hybrid Civic.)

The coupe and sedan Civic is powered by a-140 hp, 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder engine combined with standard five-speed manual gearbox with the option of a five-speed automatic. The coupe and sedan Si are rev-happy 197-hp, 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine coupled with six-speed manual gearbox and a sport tuned suspension and limited slip differential. The Civic Si sport coupe and sedan get standard fog lamps.

Elsewhere in the lineup Civic, the interior improvements come in the form of new fabrics and Bluetooth connectivity for Civics are equipped with excellent navigation system for Honda.

Transfer engines

As before, the Civic will be offered with a wide range of engines carried over unchanged from '08, including a-140 hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, gas-powered version of the same (Civic GX), the hybrid combines battery power with a tiny 1.3-liter and a zesty, 197-hp Civic Si. Our favorite is the Civic Si, of course, but we recognize that hybrid and GX models will become more popular if gas prices remain high.

The Civic is now the third most popular car in the country behind the Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla.

All Civics return good gas mileage. The Civic GX returns an EPA-rated 24/36 mpg.

Verdict

This latest Civic, introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model is a nice piece, although we do not think quite as good as previous versions. The last time a political party took one of our comparative tests, finished third behind a VW Rabbit and Mazda 3.

All Civics get a freshened exterior with new taillights and head and a new grille and front bumper design. A new model sedan LX-S has 16-inch alloy wheels, sport seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a chrome exhaust tip, and a decklid spoiler

The Civic range essentially has four trim levels: DX, LX, EX and EX-L, listed in ascending order of luxury.

A base Civic costs about 16 grand, which is a stripper. For those looking for fun, buy a coupe or sedan Si for a reasonable $ 22,000.

Security

The Civic is fairly well equipped with standard safety features including front, front side and curtain airbags on all models with four-wheel anti-lock brakes.

Despite looking like a three-door - you can thank the hidden rear door handles for that - the Civic Si will be the first five-door Civic hatch available in Australia since the early 1980s. Like the Jazz will be reviewed early this year, the Civic hatch features Magic seats. In the United Kingdom, the user manages 6.6L/100km on formal testing, while the outside Ekes auto 7.1L/100km

Honda Civic Si has increased the overall width of 65 mm to 1765 mm, and front and rear tracks to 1504 mm (up to 34 mm) and 1510 mm (up to 45 mm), respectively, to create a more dynamic silhouette and a better car handling. The 2009 Honda Civic Si hatch powered by a SOHC 1,8-liter i-VTEC produces 103 kW at 91RON fuel is married with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional five-speed automatic gearbox

Honda Civic 2008 Review

Testing our way to the 2008 Honda Civic includes a full evaluation of the 2008 Honda Civic from the inside out. We evaluate not only engine and handling performance for the 2008 Honda Civic, and cabin and cargo space. Let's overall score on our way to test the 2008 Honda Civic help you decide if a 2008 Honda Civic is right for you.

All Civics have fine straightline stability even in crosswinds, and effective control of the attitude with good pedal modulation.

Cars have decent headroom adults. Sedan doors open wide for a good entry and exit.

Dynamically, Civic matches the class-leading Volkswagen Jetta and Mazda 3. Civic is more comfortable than most competitors, although only in as much as does need to be. Handling and maneuverability sedan Civic is a solid and stable, with minimal rolling noise. For an affordable sedan, the Honda Civic can be equipped with luxury features including leather upholstery and a leather steering wheel. Model of the new Civic is the driver and front passenger and side airbags, curtain airbags side of the head and side door beams.

The Civic posted last year's 5-star crash test ratings from NHTSA for driver and front passenger frontal crash. For those who seek an uncompromising, near-sports car-like experience, the Mugen Civic Si sedan keeps the drive system of the Si, but has a variety of databases and external tweaks.

Although all Civics offer excellent fuel economy, some buyers might want to stretch the budget for their fuel even more. For those who must have a Toyota Prius-like fuel economy, Honda offers a hybrid Civic, which couples a small 93-hp, 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 20-hp electric motor to increase fuel economy over 40 mpg. Honda also offers the Civic GX, powered by natural gas combustion, 113-hp version of the "normal» Civic the 1.8-liter four-cylinder.

For 2008, Civic offers eight different trim levels (DX, LX, EX, EX-L, Si, Si Mugen, GX, and hybrid). Si Mugen, GX, and hybrid versions are available only as a four-door sedans Civic.

Civic EX models start at $ 19,345 for both the sedan and coupe.

For those requiring greater efficiency, Honda offers the sedan Si (21.945 dollars) and coupe (21.745 dollars). Si sedans get a 350-watt, seven speaker AM / FM / CD / satellite ready stereo, too.

The CNG Civic GX sedan ($ 25.225), comes with basic equipment EX trim level, adding a 113-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder CNG engine, two speakers instead of four, two-speed intermittent wipers, and an external temperature display.

Safe and Impressive Honda Civic 2007

Early in my career car, I had a conversation with a jocular fellow on what cars we'd be, given our personalities. I; t excited because Civics always accounted for logical, rational and numbingly dull. So it was with increased curiosity that I approached the 2007 Honda Civic EX, fully optioned out at $ 21,995.

The Honda Civic, like the larger Accord (read review) is one of the Honda; s bread and butter vehicles. With nearly 10 million examples sold since its introduction in 1973, the Civic is the affordable compact car other companies emulate, and probably will be for future generations. Civics past may have been the end to get the most bang for the fresh-out-of-school buck, but; Ve have a touch-and-go to class styling.

A redesigned eighth-generation version of Honda's smallest model went on sale for the 2006 model. Honda calls it the most changed Civic, since the model was introduced in the U.S. The only major change for 2007 is the addition of a high-performance sedan Civic Si.

Five different models are available: Civic sedan and coupe, Civic Si sedan and coupe and Civic Hybrid sedan. In addition, authorized dealers of Honda in California and New York have powered Civic GX natural gas. Powertrain options include a high-performance 197-hp four-cylinder engine in a Civic Si models and a gasoline / electric powertrain on the Civic Hybrid. All models have side impact and side curtain airbags, active front seat headrests and wheel brakes. Civic Three trim levels are available: DX, LX and EX.

Call It the eighth repeat of the Civic what you want, but at least it? Is boring.

Honda Civic that he says has "expressive and futuristic design." Design touches include a steeply raked windshield, minimal front and rear overhangs and reduced gap between the tires and wings. Civics use a MacPherson strut front suspension and a compact multilink double wishbone rear suspension.

Sedans and coupes have a unique wheelbase and exterior dimensions. CAR is 176.7 cm long, 69 inches wide, stand 56,5 inches tall and 106.3-inch wheelbase have. Coupet is almost two inches smaller, about the same width, 3 inches shorter and has a 2-inch shorter wheelbase.

Interior

Within each five-passenger Civic, the driver faces a two-tier instrument panel and a tilt / telescoping steering wheel. satellite navigation system is Honda's voice recognition is available on Si, Hybrid and EX models. Trunk space totals 11.5 cubic feet. Each Civic has electric windows.

Under the hood

Regular sedans and coupes Civic use a new 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder that gives 140 hp and £ 128-feet of torque. All models use a drive-by-wire throttle control.

Security

Standard safety features include wheel brakes with electronic brake force distribution frame, side impact and side curtain airbags and active head restraints on front seats.

Driving Impressions

While popular and known for reliability, recent Civics has been blamed for rock styling and rather monotonous behavior. In its current form, the sedan Civic gets a more beautiful face, perky performance and nearly flawless automatic transmission.

Given the relatively taut suspension, of the surface imperfections are visible in sedan Civic, but it is annoying. Steering effort light yet satisfactory, and the Civic is quite agile.

Civic Si

For 2007, performance-oriented model of the Honda Si is now offered as both a sedan and a conventional two-door coupe. The sedan features a rear spoiler deck, cladding and Si badging is different from the rear spoiler and investment from the coupe.

Both the Civic Si coupe and sedan hold 2.0-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder that develops 197 hp at 7800 rpm and £ 139-feet of torque at 6200 rpm. Back to top

Civic Hybrid

Introduced as a model of the 2003 Civic Hybrid was redesigned alongside the regular sedan Civic for 2006 model.

In the first generation, the gasoline engine the Civic Hybrid was dominant, and electricity appeared to be necessary to provide additional energy. Now, under some conditions low-speed cruising, the gasoline engine can be disabled temporarily and the Civic Hybrid can run solely on battery power. Honda says it Integrated Motor Assist system offers greater fuel efficiency. Hybrid interiors feature two-tone seating surfaces. prominent shoulder line running the length of the Civic, ending abruptly in a truncated tail.

The futuristic theme of the Civic continues as you open the door and peer inside. It is perhaps the most controversial aspect of the Civic, and need some time to get used to. Storage space around the cabin were abundant, with useful cubbies and corners to keep things close at hand.

Riding in the back seat of a compact sedan is never a winning proposal; The Civic is no exception.

Motivated by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine making 140 horsepower, the Civic is not a slug. Power delivery is smooth, the Civic feisty hum sounds when pressed. The Civic has surprisingly quiet ride, effectively dampening the road and wind noise. In a winding road, the Civic holds its own with composure, but softly tuned suspension, doesn 't beg to be driven fast. Or you could choose the go-go Civic Si, which now comes in sedan form in 2007.

Like big brother, the Accord, the Civic represents the middle of the road in almost every aspect. Security is a political strength, with all models get standard front airbags, seat side airbags and brakes wheels. But my loaded EX test vehicle Sedan? S sticker price of more than 20 000 were shocker, evidence that the Honda Civic wants to move onto the world.

Still, there's a reason why the Civic is so popular.

The Futuristic Honda Civic 2006 : A Review

Assuming he fell in with some hot rides 8-12 before, like Tiburon, 240SX, Celica, Escort ZX2, MX-3 and the like and your preference for a democracy remains little machine, you will find that the gods of the performance happy and smiling in compact performance industry.

Today, 200 horsepower is a kind of model for smallish cars around the scar thirty thousand U.S. dollars to provide their owners with their enthusiasm and use of recreational vehicles that do not break the bank.

For more than a decade, models of the Honda Si name has pledged an above-average performance, power, and fun for selected models. The mark is a hero to the crowd tuning: a performance model is fun, affordable and accessible used as a daily driver for some, a "good start" for others who would spend thousands making their circles run around more expensive Machinery track days.

Once other automakers have caught the potential to offer slightly warmed performance model from the factory, all started slapping on larger engines, wings, badges and bling faster than you could say "Pimp My Ride".

To make a very long story short, the Honda had lost a good portion of the benefit. The two previous generation models work with 1.6-and 1.7-liter 127 horsepower created - much less than most of ringmates. Everything about the new Si communicate directly aggression above and beyond the outgoing models.

The lines are simple and elegant, concentrated on a point of focus on the front of the hood which stands slightly inland edge of the low profile headlamps and tall guard. The Power outlets, while the stereo is the best thing I can think of in this price range with MP3 compatibility and a subwoofer in the back to really bring the noise.

Maybe I missed the press release, but when did Honda decide to start pushing the envelope in the interior style? The shape is futuristic and busy without being overcooked. The cause of much controversy, is immediately loved or hated by drivers and fans alike. The digital speedo is another story.

With an analog speedometer, the driver can tell how fast you go without looking away from the road. Needle sharing the bottom of their vision is enough to communicate goes halfway up the call, or about 100 km / h for example.

There is no window to the performance of the vehicle supplied by a tachometer counts well at km 200 + / h range. Other two-liter two hundred horsepower engines needed impetus to achieve this kind of horsepower. Then all hell breaks loose.

Save for a lower character line of the body, slightly higher for the coupe from the sedan, the sides of the new Civic is more than sensual fun. Understated fender blisters, more pronounced on the coupe, break up the otherwise featureless area.

The coupe grille appears more open, with the Honda logo suspended on a matte-black frame. The coupe headlights are more sharply outlined. Great shifter and clutch action. Lounge window size windscreen is not for everyone

The platform is under new for 2006, substantially strengthened in rigidity, stiffness and ability to absorb impact, with minor adjustments to account for differences in size of the coupe and sedan body styles. As part of its campaign to reinvigorate civic action in the sport compact market, Honda has incorporated reinforced attachment points and gussets to allow suspension and some other modifications without diminishing body integrity.

From the front, styling differences are subtle, but marked. A polished, horizontal bar grille dominates the sedan. A single, broad air intake fills the lower part of the dashboard.

The front ends, but especially the coupes', push the leading corners down and outward, emphasizing the 2006 wider track (the distance side to side tire), which increased by more than one inch in front and more than two inches back in 2005's
